Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DriveKit (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use the DriveKit iOS app and related services (the “Service”).
DriveKit is a vehicle maintenance and cost tracking app. Your data is primarily stored on your device, and cloud sync is available when you create/sign in to an account.
1) What we collect
A) Information you provide
When you use DriveKit, you may enter:
Vehicle information (e.g., vehicle name, make, model, year, vehicle type, color, EV details like battery capacity/range, active vehicle)
Fuel logs (date, odometer, fuel amount, price per unit, total cost, notes)
Charging logs (date, odometer, energy added, charging type, costs, battery % start/end, notes)
Service records (service type, dates, odometer, next due date/odometer, cost, reminder setting, custom name/icon, notes)
Document reminders (type, due date, amount, recurring settings, notes)
If you create an account to enable cloud sync, you may provide:
Email address (email/password sign up), and/or
Google account sign-in (via Google Sign-In), and/or
Apple Sign-In (if enabled in your app version)
B) Information collected automatically (for core functionality)
Depending on features you enable, the Service processes:
Account identifiers (a Firebase user ID) to associate your synced data with your account
Notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging token) if you enable push notifications
Basic device/app information needed for app operation and support (e.g., app version)
C) Information you send to us via Support/Feedback
If you use “Send Feedback” in the app, it opens your email client to message support@drivekit.app. The email template includes device details such as:
app version, iOS version, device model, device name
You control what you send. Your email provider may process that message under their own policies.
2) How we use information
We use information to:
Provide the core app features (tracking vehicles, logs, services, reminders)
Sync your data across devices (when cloud sync is enabled)
Send notifications
Local notifications for reminders on your device
Remote (push) notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging if enabled
Protect the Service and prevent abuse (including Firebase App Check using DeviceCheck in production)
3) Cloud sync (Firebase)
When cloud sync is enabled, DriveKit syncs your data to Google Firebase (Firestore) under your account. Data synced may include the vehicle, log, service, and reminder fields listed above.
DriveKit also stores limited account metadata in Firestore, such as:
email (if provided), display name (if available)
account timestamps (created/last sign-in)
DriveKit enables Firestore offline persistence on device to improve reliability when your network is unavailable.
4) Push notifications
If you enable push notifications:
Your device receives a push token from Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
DriveKit stores the token in Firestore along with:
platform (“iOS”) and token update time
DriveKit may also store vehicle type categories (e.g., EV/hybrid/gas) to support notification targeting.
You can disable notifications anytime in iOS settings.
5) What we don’t collect
Based on the current app implementation:
No precise location/GPS permissions are used for DriveKit’s features
No access to contacts
No in-app advertising (Firebase Ads is disabled)
Firebase Analytics is disabled in the current configuration; however, Firebase services may still process limited technical data required to deliver features like authentication, database sync, and push notifications
6) How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only:
With service providers used to run the Service (notably Google Firebase for authentication, cloud database sync, and push notifications), acting as processors for these functions
For legal and safety reasons if required by law or to protect users and the Service
With your direction (e.g., when you export/share backup files using iOS Share Sheet)
7) Data export and sharing
DriveKit lets you export your data (CSV or JSON) and share it using the iOS Share Sheet. Exported files are created on your device; if you choose to share them (email, cloud storage, AirDrop, etc.), the recipient/service you choose will process them under their own policies.
8) Data retention
On-device data: stored until you delete it in the app, use reset features (if available), or uninstall the app.
Cloud data (if cloud sync is enabled): stored until you delete entries, disable sync, or delete your account.
Account deletion: the app includes an option to delete your account, which is designed to delete your Firestore data (vehicles, logs, services, reminders, and profile) and your authentication account.
9) Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including iOS sandboxing and Firebase security features. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we aim to protect your information from unauthorized access.
10) Your choices and rights
You can:
Use the app without enabling cloud sync
Enable/disable notifications in iOS settings
Export your data (CSV/JSON)
Delete entries at any time
Request deletion by deleting your DriveKit account (in-app)
11) Children’s privacy
DriveKit is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12) International users
If you use cloud sync, your data may be processed on infrastructure operated by Firebase/Google in locations that may be outside your country. Those transfers occur as part of providing the Service.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, if changes are material, provide additional notice.
